So, I thought I'd take it upon myself to post due to the weather outside. It's really crappy. I don't understand it. Well, let's see Culture Shock was this weekend and it was pretty great. I let Jay know about the video and all that stuff, just so I didn't creep him out or anything. He seemed pretty excited, a little taken aback as well, but whatever. Things are going well here, trying to figure out finals and all that jazz. I'll hopefully be getting more pictures from Kelly and posting them too. I'm pretty sure she has a website for them which I'll find and put up as soon as possible. My photography is going pretty well I'd say. I don' t get to shoot as much as I'd like to, but I'm still getting the ball rolling. I'm thinking about buying some new lenses over the summer once I start working again.
Well I'll update soon, hopefully with a new podcast with Kellyann!

Purchase, Easter, Birthday Extravaganza.
Ladies and gents I am now 19. Not very exciting, I know, but I thought I'd share this little fun fact. Hm, well I am choosing my two main focuses for Viral Marketing. It, of course, goes along with photography at Purchase College, but I'm going to focus on my friends Jay and Kellyann. They are both wicked talented (Not from Boston and that came out of my mouth) and pretty great people.
Happy Easter!

Purchase College, oh the excitement.
Current music is "Dancing" by Elisa.
I've been really crazy lately trying to figure out life and all that. I've been jumping back and forth trying to convince myself to apply to the art conservatory spring semester next year for photography. I just don't know if my stuff is good enough. Dilemmas, dilemmas.
I'm trying to get the word out there on all the great photographers here at school, Purchase College. Kellyann Petry, who is one of my very good friends, is a freshman and one of the most talented photographers I've met. I love her stuff. It's really, truly great stuff. Here's a video of her stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGsFW8k6eCM . Only a small amount of what she does. It's really fantastic. Please go look for me. It would be greatly appreciate.
I'm working on a second video for Jeff Eaton. He's a got a show coming up and I would love it if some of you out there in cyberspace would show some support for him. He's really talented and his direction is very different from what I've seen before. http://jeffeaton.org/ Really, his stuff is truly something to look out for. If you're in the city area go see it. I'll give an update with the information as soon as I can... which means later today. Promise.
Alright ladies and gents. Class is calling my name. Need to pay attention for my sake. Will update soon!

So, Jeff Eaton. He's awesome. He's a photographer and sculpture and he has a show in the VA today! Go to it. It's bound to be amazing. Also here's an interview with the guy, seems pretty great:
1. What made you interested in photography?
3. Do you like film or digital better?
4. Favorite thing to shoot.
5. Favorite color!
6. Favorite band.
7. How long have you been taking pictures?
8. What would be your suggestion to others that want to get into the photography field?
1. What made you interested in photography?
Well, I remember starting to take lots of photographs in high school. I photographed my friends skateboarding and I would also photograph bands at shows. I got really into that and started doing group portraits of the bands. I think that I wanted to both document these experiences and share the photographs with my friends and other people. My friend Paul could drive before I could and we would go out into more rural areas or into the heart of Kansas City and make photographs.
2. Who is your favorite artist?
John Cage
3. Do you like film or digital better?
Aspects of both. I find myself shooting film and scanning the film to create a digital file that is then output digitally.
4. Favorite thing to shoot.
Absence
5. Favorite color!
Is middle grey a color?
6. Favorite band.
Joan of Arc
7. How long have you been taking pictures?
I think the first pictures I made were Polaroids with my Grandfather's camera in the 6h grade, so since 1997- 12 years.
8. What would be your suggestion to others that want to get into the photography field?
I am starting to learn that a photographer is interested in finding, collecting, and remembering. If one has the desire to fix an image of nature then photography is an appropriate field to become involved with. Photography is so accessible and familiar and we are so good at interpreting images (since they surround our environment). A photographer becomes aware of these notions while capturing some particularly interesting or significant thing. So photography encourages being honest, observant, and patient.
--It looks like he's got a good head on his shoulders. Can't wait to see his show later on today.
